pottery.treat 2022

pottery.treat 2022

A special community event.

In this article I would like to tell you about our pottery.treat 2022.
But let's first clarify the most important question: What is pottery.treat?
In 2020, Sophia Roitmair of @sophfirsart, Marion Kogler of @marionkogler.keramik, and I met through social media. We regularly shared our passion and work with clay and have strengthened and supported each other on our journey. The idea for pottery.treat was born during one of our meetings:
An event for creative entrepreneurs who are already committed to working with clay or those who are on their journey to do so.

Our goal – to grow together and learn from each other.

In May 2022, we finally implemented our idea and hosted our first pottery.treat. Since Marion and her husband Johannes Kogler run a hotel, the weekend took place at their Hotel Kogler in Bad Mitterndorf. It was wonderful to welcome our 24 participants.

The first day consisted of arrival and getting to know each other over a glass of formfrei sparkling water. I still find it absolutely fascinating how quickly everyone bonded and integrated into the group. After a brief round of introductions from the team, the schedule for the next few days was explained. Afterwards, there was a delicious dinner and we all ended the evening together.

The second day began with a delicious breakfast together. All participants then had the opportunity to take part in a yoga class in a beautiful yoga room. The yoga sessions were led by the wonderful Christina Henökl @ninii_ck . Next on the agenda was a pottery wheel workshop with Lea Starke of @studiostarke_ceramics and Tanja Branisavljevic of @ pottery.hontass , where participants learned how to throw tall vessels.

A total of 10 participants were able to attend this course at one time, with the remaining participants having the opportunity to attend the workshop at a later date. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Lea and Tanja, who enriched the pottery.treat experience with their expertise and wonderful personalities. They share a studio in Düsseldorf – The Clay Company @t he_clay_company. Feel free to stop by and visit them.

Another important part of the program was Open Studio Time, which we offered several times throughout the day. During this time, participants were able to work freely on the potter's wheel and interact with their colleagues.

Of course, there was also free time, which could be spent entirely at your own pace. You could use the wellness area, go for a walk, go on a bike ride, or simply relax together in the sun.

On the last day, we concluded the wonderful weekend together after lunch. Everyone had one last chance to share their experiences and feedback. And then it was time to say goodbye.

We would like to thank everyone who made this weekend and our first pottery.treat so unique. A big thank you also goes to the companies who provided us with their high-quality products for the weekend and our participants.

For Sophia, Marion, and me, the pottery.treat 2022 was a huge dream coming true. To this day, we are filled with gratitude and happiness for the great feedback and this successful weekend.
